CYGWIN -- Get that Linux feeling - on Windows
Hello Everyone, If you want to get the terminal which accepts Linux commands and fortunately or unfortunately if you are a Windows user you can get Linux terminal by installing CYGWIN in your windows machines.Follow these steps ..
1. Go to Cygwin website and download setup file.
3.Click Next button to start the installation process. Following screen you will see after clicking next.
4. Select the first radio button i.e., Install from Internet, so that the installer download necessary files from internet and keeps the installation in your machine. Otherwise you can go for other options too.
Click Next after selecting the radio button, installer will download files. Meanwhile don't go anywhere because it won't take much time to complete.
5. After downloading installer will show following screen, which is asking you to select which packages has to be included from Linux. By default all packages are selected, if you wish you select the required packages to include. Click Next to continue.
6. Wait for installer to install cygwin in your machine.
7. You will be asked to create icons for desktop and shortcut, select them you wish and Click Finish to complete the installation.
8. Open the Cygwin by double clicking icon, You will see the following screen which can interpret Linux commands.
Enjoy the Linux terminal in windows.
